We broke ground on this modern farmhouse in early spring, and now it proudly stands on beautiful farmland in northwest Louisiana.

This home was designed with timeless farmhouse character inside and out: a bright white exterior, large front and back porches, tongue-and-groove stained porch ceilings, and elaborately tiled porch floors. Massive, hand-crafted cypress posts flank both the front and back porches, giving the home a striking presence and a sense of strength and tradition.

Inside, the homeowners curated pieces of history that make this home one of a kind — 120-year-old barn doors, a 100-year-old double pantry door, and a restored clawfoot tub over a century old. We also incorporated reclaimed lumber from an old Louisiana barn, which now lives on in the laundry room ceiling and the half bath accent wall.

Hand-hewn white oak beams bring warmth and authenticity to the living spaces, while a bois d’arc mantle anchors the back porch with rustic charm. The kitchen features a striking black walnut island — a bold, elegant centerpiece that perfectly balances the farmhouse style with modern function.

Throughout the home, stained concrete floors, abundant windows, and sweeping views of the surrounding farmland create a bright, inviting atmosphere that blends modern comfort with timeless character.
